Dr. Erika Pitkat is a proud native of Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinarian Medicine in 2004. She practiced small animal medicine in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia Beach before returning to her home state in 2012. Approximately half of her career was spent exclusively working with cats, which hold a very special place in her heart.

Dr. Pitkat strives to create a stress-free visit for every patient, treating each pet as if it were her own. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but especially enjoys internal medicine, treating senior pets with multiple conditions, pain management, and oral health.

Dr. Pitkat enjoys spending time with her husband, Frank, and their four children at home. Her five cats and dog have trained her to do their bidding. The entire family has developed a passion for TaeKwonDo, training together over the past seven years.  Dr. Pitkat earned her 3rd Dan black belt last year and her senior instructor certification. The family also enjoys traveling, gardening, and any outdoor activity!  Dr. Pitkat is thrilled to serve the greater Jacksonville community in their homes with HelloVet!

Spencer
Veterinary Nurse

Born and raised in Jacksonville, I’ve been fortunate to do this for ten years, and I've spent six years at a cat-only clinic. I love specializing in feline medicine and care. I then worked in a dog/cat/pocket pet/ exotic animal clinic and broadened my knowledge and experience. I now work in Emergency and Specialty Medicine. I love learning everything I can about this field, but my favorite aspect of my job is building relationships with clients and pets. I started my animal experience volunteering with rescue, and I’m still actively rescuing on my own today. There’s a foster cat or three at my house at all times. When not working, I enjoy everything Disney and Marvel, spending time with friends and lounging on my couch watching movies with my cats and dogs. I have a German Shepherd named Kiara, and a Golden Retriever named Kovu, both rescues. My clowder includes Peter Parker, Phoenix, Mufasa, Logan, and Oliver.

Shannon
Receptionist

Hi, I’m Shannon! Born and raised in Jacksonville. I began my veterinary journey in 2014 and have loved every minute. After spending a few years as a veterinary technician,  I found myself really enjoying the client care side and developing client relations. Two years ago, I started an equine boarding and training facility. I am fond of riding my horses, teaching students, and spending time with my husband in my free time. I have one horse, two dogs, and five cats that I adore.
