About the Role
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Low-stress animal restraint and handling in clients' homes, triage of patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging support, nursing care for cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, clear communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, anesthetic monitoring, and helping manage the daily route, mobile unit, and on-board inventory.
Must be comfortable working in an in-home and mobile setting and able to travel between appointments throughout the day. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
You'll have room to master your role and grow into the next step, with hands-on training and continuing development along the way.
Requirements
We're looking for:
A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required. 2+ years professional experience preferred but not required
A valid driver's license and clean driving record
Comfort working independently in a mobile, in-home environment
Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and practice operations
Expertise in safe, low-stress animal restraint techniques
Proficiency in sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazard
